5,000 Families To Be Relocated Under Comprehensive Shelter Program (CSP)

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Bayani Fernando announced that 5,000 squatter families will be relocated because of the Comprehensive Shelter Program (CSP). Actually, this is a project of a newly created task force, Metro Manila Inter-Agency Committee on Informal Settlers (MMIAC) where he is also heads. They have already targeted the areas to prioritize such as Damayan Lagi, 11th Street, and Sta. Cruz near San Juan River in Quezon City; villages of 177, 135, 178, 179, 180, 181 and 182 which cover Estero de Tripa de Galina in Pasay City; Old Balara (West and East side) on Commonwealth Avenue; and Masambong and Manresa on Araneta Avenue, all in Quezon City. These were prioritized because they are in waterways which are prone to danger.
