Aquino Parks to be Renovated Soon

Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Joselito Atienza wants to make Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Nature Center in Quezon City a place for biodiversity. The secretary is tapping Palafox Associates to develop take care of the design and landscape of Aquino Park.

There are currently about 3,000 trees in the park’s mini forest and there is an abundance of some of the Philippines’ rare flora and fauna.

The park was named after Benigno Aquino Junior in 1986 by Ernesto Maceda, the former DENR Secretary. With President Cory Aquino’s Executive Order 192, the name Parks and Wildlife Nature Center was added to its existing name.
