Gawad Kalinga plans to build a designer village for its beneficiaries. It was called as such because they will be using the designs that won from the nationwide competition of Gawad Kalinga and Metrobank Foundation. The designs move away from the traditional boxed designs and instead will make houses modern wherein beneficiaries will feel comfortable. They will be making 2-storey houses made of coconut wood instead of the usual bungalow design.

Metrobank Foundation and Gawad Kalinga had been partners for several years now. Metrobank Foundation had already sponsored 2 Gawad Kalinga villages.
