With the newly built PNR trains that will start to operate the week after next, SM Group sees potential profitability on its stations. Metro Pacific Tollway Corporation, the developer that will be responsible for the construction of Makati-NLEX Skyway, will be needing some additional funds from private sectors to complete the project. According to Ramoncito Fernandez, President and CEO of MPTC, SM Group is planning to build malls in PNR stations so there is a possibility of a business tie-up here.

MPTC is studying how big the malls will be. They are planning to build a mall in every PNR station. The smaller malls may be managed by them while the bigger malls will be managed by SM Group.
